SLT
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, or SLT, is a form of laser surgery that is used to lower intraocular pressure in glaucoma.
It is used when eye drop medications are not lowering the eye pressure enough or are causing significant side effects. It can also be used as initial treatment in glaucoma. SLT has been in use for more than 25 years in the United States and around the world.
YAG Laser Capsulotomy procedure. This procedure is commonly performed after cataract surgery in order to restore vision after a posterior capsule opacity (PCO).

AHMED VALVE
The Ahmed valve shares features with several other currently available devices, but gained in popularity because of its small size, ease of insertion, and intrinsic valve system designed to forestall early hypotony. The valve feature is a millipore filter which restricts flow below 7 mmHg – although leakage around the tube at its scleral insertion site can still result in excessive filtration.201 Its single-plate design has the appeal of relatively rapid subconjunctival attachment in a single quadrant, thus avoiding multiquadrant surgery and strategies of ligation or stent placement to limit aqueous flow.
OMNI PROCEDURE
Omni® is a comprehensive minimally invasive glaucoma procedure (MIGS) procedure that can be combined with or done without cataract surgery. It is performed via micro-incisions in the cornea to gain access to the trabecular meshwork outflow pathway. The Omni® device is a restorative MIGS procedure designed to re-establish the eye’s natural outflow drainage system; it accesses, catheterizes, and viscodilates the Schlemm’s canal, and also the distal outflow system, beginning with the collector channels. If desired, it also can be used to perform a trabeculotomy ab-interno to “un-roof” the trabecular tissue. This allows for more direct outflow of the aqueous humor fluid into the collector channel system. As with other MIGS, this procedure does not involve opening up the conjunctival tissues.
This is an outpatient procedure performed in an ambulatory surgery center. The surgery is usually done under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation. Your doctor will want to examine you in the office the following day and you will be prescribed a regimen of postoperative drops for the next four to six weeks. If the procedure is successful you can expect a decrease in the intraocular pressure and you possibly may come off some of your glaucoma medications. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks before the outcome of the procedure is known. See video link below for addition information on the surgery itself.
